Hi Grant,

I did not have the SPOT device, Robert at Veys Motorsports brought it.

He hit the “panic button” on the SPOT late the day we got stranded and the copter arrived early the next morning, they could not have gotten there any faster and the SPOT brought them dead on right to our location. I believe the SPOT owner had the insurance as I have heard nothing about costs. I was not charged anything and neither was anyone else as far as I know.

I hope this helps, take care!

Regards,

Bill Berroth

Bill:

Quick question…..When you guys got helicoptered out of Baja, was the call initiated by pushing the 911 button on a SPOT device ?

How long from the time you pushed the 911 button until they responded?

Did the spot owner have the flight insurance so the there was no cost for the flight ?

Were the other Non Spot members of the flight party charged for the flight?

I have a Spot device especially since I had quadruple by-pass surgery in Dec 2007. This is helps my wife deal with my crazy out of country and out of state rides!

THANKS
